Vision & Mission
To establish a model performing arts academy in East Los Angeles for all students interested in the arts, who will achieve at high levels in the classroom, performance, and prepare students for success in college and professions.
The mission of the East Los Angeles Performing Arts Academy is to develop creative, contributing members of society through a standards-based curriculum featuring rigorous interdisciplinary instruction that is rich in the performing arts, and by working with community and media & entertainment industry leaders to give our students the experience necessary to achieve our vision.
Why Choose a Magnet ! On the English language arts portion of the test, 55% of LAUSD magnet students met or exceeded the state’s new learning standards, compared with 39% of students in local charters, the district report showed. East LA Performing Arts Magnet is still accepting applications for the 2016-17 School year. We especially have seats available in grades 9, 10, and 11. There is no audition necessary for enrollment in a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Magnet, featured in the LA Times. If you would like to enroll please follow the online application process listed below or call the main office for assistance at (323)265-6725. We also provide walk-in assistance, between 8:30am -3:00pm, Monday-Friday (just bring your email password and we provide the computer!).
